    Over the past few decades, birth has gone from a natural event that can occasionally need medical assistance to being treated as a full on medical emergency. It makes what could be beautiful events into hard traumas. You are then left to deal with it yourself and mothers find themselves 5, 10, 40 years later still hurt because no one took the time to help them heal (I’ve never been to a hospital that taught how to massage a c-section scar).

    A loss is a loss. Even if it’s not getting the birth plan you wanted.

    People only think of the postpartum period as the few weeks to few months after birth. Postpartum is for life. Your body changes the moment the pregnancy takes and you should be celebrated and cared for as such. Snapping back and getting over it aren’t the common ways to be and I hope you can find your way to peace in healing the trauma left to your body and heart.
